Your first client may come from your pitch. But your first opportunity often comes from the confidence you create in the other person.

Getting Your First Client Isn't Hard. Getting Their Trust Is.

Getting your first client isn't hard.

Getting their trust is.

Especially in the social media era.

Everyone has a profile.

Everyone can create a portfolio.

Everyone can say they're good at what they do.

But trust?

That's different.

My First Client

When I got my first client from Good Earth, they didn't ask about my experience.

They asked me one simple question:

Can you do it?

I said, "Yes."

And that was enough to start the conversation.

Looking back, I realized something.

Your first client may come from your pitch.

But your first opportunity often comes from the confidence you create in the other person.

Why In-Person Meetings Still Matter

That's why I think in-person meetings still matter.

Because behind the screens, people see your work.

In person, they feel your conviction.

A portfolio can show what you've done.

A conversation can show how you think.

And sometimes, that's what makes someone comfortable enough to give you the opportunity.

Trust Is the Real Currency

We live in a world full of digital connections.

Profiles.

Portfolios.

Messages.

Followers.

Connections.

But none of these automatically create trust.

Trust comes from how confidently you communicate, how clearly you understand the problem, and whether the other person believes you can actually deliver.

That's why I believe:

In a world full of digital connections, trust is becoming the real currency.
